Chatham University ranked on the WSJ 2025 Best Colleges in the US list

Chatham University has again been included in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) and College Pulse 2025 Best Colleges in the US Ranking, ranking the top 500 (out of over 4,000+) institutions by their value to their students.

The rankings are based on the learning environment, years to pay off the net price, degree completion rates, the likelihood of higher salaries post-graduation, and diversity. The results are derived from official data from the U.S. Department of Education and the Census Bureau and a nationwide survey of undergraduate students and recent alumni who graduated within the past five years.

Of Pittsburgh-ranked colleges, Chatham ranked highest for Social Mobility, recognizing colleges for how much they enhance their students’ social mobility. The Social Mobility ranking acknowledges universities that take higher proportions of students from lower-income families while maintaining high graduation rates, positively impacting graduate salaries, and minimizing college costs.

This prestigious list is presented by The Wall Street Journal, College Pulse, and Statista, the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. In one of the largest-ever independent surveys of verified college students in the U.S., College Pulse, in cooperation with The Wall Street Journal and Statista, anonymously surveyed around 110,000 undergraduates and recent undergraduate alumni. The survey covered topics like career preparation, learning opportunities, and campus life. The ranking combines students’ experience in a learning environment with an exhaustive analysis of student outcomes.
