Distraction Digest: Chatham Content that has Nothing to Do with COVID-19
We’re all stuck inside, glued to our screens, half anxious for news, and half anxious for anything that can distract us from the news. Chatham has done our utmost to provide you with helpful online resources on our precautionary COVID-19 measures, but what about our helpful online resources for fun? If you’re missing life on campus as much as we are, we have just the thing: this roundup of delightful Chatham-centric social media, websites, and more.

Wonderful Websites
While away some time on the world wide web with us!
Chatham 150
So our 150th year may have come and gone, but if you missed a moment of the celebration (or just want to relive a time when we could have a party in the gym), our 150th website has alumni profiles, then-and-now photos, and an entire documentary on Chatham’s history.
Chatham University Archives and Special Collections
It’s no secret, we love the Archives. Where else can you view photos from the 150+ years of Chatham’s history, from the momentous to the mundane? The Archives are an incredible place to lose yourself (and a few hours)— see early photos of our famous alumna Rachel Carson, or watch Chatham’s May Day festivities from the sidelines. You can even score some conversation-starting Zoom backgrounds, as Archivist Molly Tighe shared with Bloomberg.
Pulse@ChathamU
Shameless plug, have you looked around Pulse@ChathamU? We’ve gathered alumni profiles, student stories, academic highlights, faculty interviews and more for your viewing and reading pleasure. And during this tough time when everyone feels a little far away, we’re working to bring you even more stories about Chatham’s people and places.
ChathamU on Youtube
For those times when even reading is too much (we get it), you can keep up with Chatham on YouTube! Get excited for summer projects with our Eden Hall series, or see some friendly and familiar faces with our student-created “Helpful Heroes of Chatham” videos. And we totally won’t judge if you watch a bunch of residence hall walk-through videos just to get a taste of your home away from home.
Jennie King Mellon Library
Even though the physical library building is closed, the JKM Library is bustling online! You can chat with librarians, check out an expanded list of temporary online offerings from library resources partners, and even read the JKM Library blog for all the details on past events, current contests, and intriguing takes on Chatham’s history.
We hope this list provides a little much-needed fun for anyone who loves Chatham! Students, please remember that Chatham is here for you if you’re feeling sad or overwhelmed. You can make an appointment with our Counseling Services, or try out our new Talk Campus resource. Stay well!
