From October 11th to 13th, Chatham celebrated its 150th Anniversary with a Reunion weekend full of dynamic events, performances, art shows, and one BIG party. Join us in looking back on a fun-filled weekend!

 
 

Reunion for Classes Ending in 4 and 9

In addition to all the 150th anniversary excitement, classes ending in 4 and 9 celebrated their reunion, including the milestone 50th reunion of the class of 1969!

 

Intergenerational Luncheon with Student Leaders + Research Updates from Current Faculty

On Friday October 11th, alumni dined in style beside the Mellon Pond, connecting with Chatham student leaders and scholarship recipients. Then, faculty members gave updates on their recent publications and findings in a TED Talk-style presentation.

 

Strolling Tour of Eden Hall Campus + Harvest Dinner

Alumni closed out Friday’s events with a strolling tour of the beautiful and sustainable Eden Hall Campus, and enjoyed a family-style harvest dinner with live music.

 

Awards Ceremony with Keynote Address by Lynette Charity ’74

On Saturday October 12th, five alumnae were honored with awards in a ceremony that featured a keynote address by Lynette Charity ‘74. Awards were presented to:

  • Annette Calgaro ’84, William Trimble Beatty Volunteer Award

  • Dr. Lynette Charity ’74, Distinguished Alumna Award

  • Dorothy Cohn Fox ’64, Cornerstone Award for Art

  • Jolene Ereditario Chinchilli ’74, Cornerstone Award for Environmental Stewardship

  • Rebecca Leighty Abrams ’94, Cornerstone Award for Nonprofit Management

150 Years of Chatham History Retrospective by Chatham Presidents

This lively discussion of Chatham’s legacy featured current President David Finegold and former Presidents Alberta Arthurs, Louise Royster Brown ’67, and Esther Barazzone. Click here to view the retrospective in its entirety.

 

Chatham Feminist Activists Multimedia Exhibit with the In Sisterhood Project + Piano Concert with Robin Meloy Goldsby ‘79

In Sisterhood: The Women’s Movement in Pittsburgh is an oral history and multimedia project created by Dr. Pat Ulbrich, designed to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of this aspect of Western PA’s history. The exhibit featured five distinguished Chatham graduates:

  • Cynthia Vanda ‘59

  • Maureen McHugh ’74

  • Anne Lange ’74

  • Kipp Dawson ’94

  • Lois “Toni” McClendon ’02

Later, renowned pianist, author, composer and alumna Robin Meloy Goldsby ‘79 performed live in the Laughlin Music Hall.

 

150th Anniversary Long Purple Line Gala

The familiar Athletic and Fitness Center gym was transformed into a nostalgic journey through Chatham’s Long Purple Line that included themed drinks and music and a special 150th Anniversary video presentation.

 

“Fabled Faculty Fact or Fiction” with Emeriti Faculty Dr. Tom Hershberger and Dr. Bill Lenz

Drs. Tom Hershberger and Bill Lenz hosted a storytelling hour full of memories of the larger-than-life faculty they’ve known over their roughly 100 combined years at Chatham. Alumni also shared fond reminiscences of favorite faculty stories. Click here to view the talk in its entirety.
