Induction Cooking Workshop to be held at Eden Hall Campus

Chatham University is hosting a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Induction Cooking Workshop on Friday, March 10, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Esther Barazzone Center at Chatham’s Eden Hall Campus located in Richland Township, PA.

At this workshop, the DEP will explain the benefits of its new Cooking in Healthy Electrified Commercial Kitchens (CHECK) rebate program, targeted to K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and nonprofits whose missions focus on healthcare or community services. In addition, Chef Chris Galarza of Forward Dining Solutions, will provide in-person demonstrations of various induction cooking equipment in-use at Eden Hall Campus and explain how it works to reduce facility energy costs and improve the health of building occupants. 

This free workshop is open to anyone interested in learning about induction cooking and potentially installing this equipment in a commercial kitchen. Space is limited and those interested in attending must RSVP through this form by March 1.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Environmental Protection, Chatham’s Falk School of Sustainability & Environment (FSSE), Chatham’s Center for Regional Agriculture and Food Transformation (CRAFT), Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania, Parkhurst Dining, and Forward Dining Solutions.
