Dr. Lisa Lambert named Vice-President of Academic Affairs

Dr. Lisa Lambert has been officially appointed Chatham's Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) after serving in the role on an interim basis since this summer.

After joining Chatham in 1985 as a faculty member in Biology, she was promoted to Professor of Biology in 2012. While at Chatham, Dr. Lambert has served as Chair of the Science Department, founding Program Director for MS Biology, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Assistant Vice President of Undergraduate Learning. She has done sabbaticals at the University of Pittsburgh, Duke University, and Harvard University School of Public Health while pursuing her research interests in the genetics of iron metabolism.

“Lisa is a dedicated member of the Chatham community, having served in faculty and administrative roles here since 1985,” said Dr. Rhonda Phillips, President of Chatham University. “During her service as interim VPAA, Dr. Lambert’s very capable and steady leadership in this role has helped Chatham tremendously. She has already made many positive impacts, including launching the Academic Success Center to further enhance our students' educational experience.”

Dr. Lambert earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Furman University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and a Ph.D. in Genetics from Indiana University-Bloomington.

“We have many academic strengths here at Chatham, and with Dr. Lambert's guidance, those will only become stronger,” added Dr. Phillips.
