Dr. Deborah DeLong honored with the Marketing Management Association Fellow Award

Deborah DeLong, Ph.D., Executive Director and Dean of Chatham University’s new School of Business and Enterprise and Professor of Marketing, was selected to receive the prestigious 2024 Marketing Management Association (MMA) Fellow Award.  

The MMA annually recognizes one member who has made an outstanding long-term service contribution to the organization. The criteria for the MMA Fellow Award include MMA leadership roles, scholarship, and service contribution to the organization. 

In their nominations for this award, Dr. DeLong’s colleagues highlight her outstanding achievements and leadership within the MMA for nearly 15 years. She has served as Publications Council Chair, Program Chair, Fall and Spring Conference Chair, Interim Communications Director, VP of Marketing, President-Elect, President, and Editor of the Marketing Management Journal. Nominators recognize her scholarship, which has garnered numerous top paper awards and publications in high-impact journals, as well as her dedication to advancing the science of marketing education in research and practice.

Dr. DeLong has been a Professor of Marketing at Chatham University since 2006. Before joining Chatham, she was a Clinical Professor of Marketing at Tulane University, where she developed and instructed experiential learning programs for undergraduate business and MBA students. Before academia, Dr. DeLong led consumer and business analytics efforts for Entergy Corporation’s regulated and competitive energy markets. She also directed competitive intelligence and marketing research programs at Bozell & Jacobs for clients across numerous industries. Dr. DeLong is the Editor of the Marketing Management Journal and, in 2022, was awarded the American Marketing Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
