Chatham University recognized for helping increase student civic engagement
Chatham University has been awarded the Highly Established Action Plan Seal by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) for Chatham’s 2022 ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge Plan. With this recognition, Chatham is one of just 82 (out of the 920 participating) institutions across the United States to receive this seal, which recognizes commitment to increasing nonpartisan democratic engagement in 2022.
Chatham’s Plan was developed by the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics (PCWP) at Chatham University, the Office of Student Engagement, and the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and can be viewed at the University’s ALL IN Participant Web Page.
“Colleges and universities have a responsibility to prepare students to engage meaningfully in our nation’s democracy. The role they play in developing the next generation of voters and shaping our future cannot be understated,” said Dr. Jennifer Domagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. “We are proud to recognize Chatham University for working to graduate the next generation of voters by developing and implementing a comprehensive, data-informed campus action plan.”
ALL IN and the American Democracy Project, Campus Vote Project, NASPA Lead Initiative, and the Students Learn Students Vote Coalition created the Strengthening American Democracy Guide to help guide campuses on their journey to graduate democratically engaged students by building effective action plans.
