Chatham launches new Office of Research & Sponsored Programs

Chatham University has launched a new Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (ORSP) to support and advance faculty research and grants at Chatham. The office will provide enhanced funding identification resources, application and proposal assistance, and administration services for grants, contracts, and other sponsored activities across the University.

The office will be led by Emily Wilmore in the role of Director. Emily has been with Chatham for six years where she has served in progressive leadership roles, including Senior Grants Manager, Associate Director, and Director of Institutional Partnerships. Prior to Chatham, Emily worked in donor, corporate, and foundation relations for The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.

“From the earliest days of my presidency, we identified that a top priority in Chatham’s strategic action plan was to increase support and resources for grants and research at the University,” said President Rhonda Phillips. “I am excited to launch this office and look forward to the opportunities it will create to further enhance the research, work, and impact of our faculty and staff here at Chatham and beyond.”

Over the last three years, the faculty, staff and mission centers at Chatham received grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Science Foundation, Health Resources & Service Administration. Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services, U.S. Small Business Administration, PA Department of Education, and PA Department of Environmental Protection.
