Farm-to-Fork Series offers farm-grown outdoor dinner events at Eden Hall Campus

Every Thursday this summer, Parkhurst Dining at Chatham University’s Eden Hall campus will offer a variety of locally-sourced food and drink options through its Summer Farm to Fork Market Series.

The series feature meats, grains, produce, and other foods that have been grown, harvested, and prepared by local providers, including the certified organic gardens at Eden Hall. These events will be open to the general public from 4 to 6 p.m. every Thursday on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guests can choose to take to-go options home with them, bring their own picnic blanket, or dine at one of the limited outdoor tables with the beautiful Eden Hall farm as a backdrop.

Beverage specials will be coordinated with each menu. There will also be farm items, organic produce, house-made breads, brand new meal kits, and more food and drink options available for purchase as the season progresses.

The Summer Market series schedule includes:

  • BBQ on 1st Thursdays (July 8, Aug 5) — Explore U.S. regions of BBQ, including Kansas City’s tomato-based sauce on burnt ends and South Carolina’s mustard-based sauce on pulled pork.

  • Pizzas on 2nd Thursdays (July 15, Aug 12) — Create your own pizza masterpiece, grilled to order. A variety of sauces, cheeses, and toppings will change weekly. Gluten-free crust available.

  • Picnic on 3rd Thursdays (July 22) — Come enjoy all the fixings for a traditional outdoor picnic with a Gourmet Burger & Dog Bar and carnival cotton candy for the kids.

  • Tacos on 4th Thursdays (June 24, July 29) — Bring the heat with a variety of taco options ranging from traditional to spicy, meat to fish, savory to dessert, and more.

“This past year, we were able to connect, in a way that we never had before, with the local community at our Eden Hall campus by offering fun, themed family-style take-out meals.  We wanted to switch it up this summer, and invite the community back with us to dine and celebrate outside, with the beautiful backdrop of Eden Hall Farm.  Our team came up with the Farm-to-Fork Market Series, and, with our partnership with Chatham University, we are excited to be able to share with the public some of the delicious and nutritious food that the university harvests, and we produce at our Eden Hall campus,” says Courtney Blood, General Manager of Parkhurst Dining at Chatham University. “Having a different theme each Thursday allows us to showcase different flavors and preparation methods, so our visitors will be sure to have a unique dining experience no matter how many times they return throughout the summer.”
