Chatham University Selected as a HIMSS Approved Education Partner

PITTSBURGH—  Chatham University announced today that they have been named a Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Approved Education Partner (AEP) as a result of meeting HIMSS’s rigorous standards for quality health IT and healthcare education, with Chatham's Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics degree.

As a HIMSS AEP, Chatham joins an exclusive group of organizations authorized to offer HIMSS-approved healthcare and health information technology education and training programs that prepare candidates for advanced knowledge in health IT or healthcare.

Chatham's online Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics degree is designed to blend key concepts and theory related to healthcare, data management and technology.  The fully online format allows working adults to further their education, while the requirements of a health informatics immersion still give learners onsite practice of applying the concepts learned.  With learning outcomes focused on technology and Information Systems to support evidence-based decision making; regulatory practice; data analysis and report-writing to improve patient outcomes; workflow analysis to improve the healthcare delivery process; and communications and relationship management, Chatham's Master of Healthcare Informatics degree provides a solid foundation to prepare the student for HIMSS Certifications and/or the CAHIMS or CPHIMS exam.

“HIMSS is pleased to welcome Chatham University, as an Approved Education Partner.  By earning this designation, the organization has demonstrated that their educational development activities meet the rigorous standards for quality as identified by HIMSS," says Mara L. Daiker, senior manager, professional development, HIMSS.
