Chatham Design Students & Faculty Recognized

PITTSBURGH— Chatham University's Graphic Design students excelled in this year’s highly competitive American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Pittsburgh annual design show, PGH365, with one student bringing home the Best in Show Award. Each year students and professionals from the western Pennsylvania area submit design work to this juried exhibition and are critically reviewed by national judges before being selected for the show. Along with work being chosen, an exclusive group of honors are awarded to both the professional and student entries.

This year the highest award presented, the Best in Show Award, went to recent Chatham Design student Breanna Smith. The winning entry was for her poster series promoting the MA/MFA programs in both film and design for Chatham University. Four other deserving Chatham students had work selected for the show with a total of 6 overall pieces that were featured at the event on Friday, April 6th in Lawrenceville. In the Professional category, Assistant Professor in Graphic Design Mark Bender was recognized and included in the exhibition for his Chatham University Guest Artist Lecture poster series.
